ABOUT SANDY SHORES AIRFIELD

Sandy Shores Airfield is a general aviation airport located in Sandy Shores, Blaine County. It primarily serves private aircraft, flight schools, and small businesses. Sandy Shores Airfield is an essential resource for the local community, providing access to air transportation for residents and businesses alike.

Originally built in the mid-20th century to serve the growing agricultural community in the Grand Senora Desert, Sandy Shores Airfield has seen a variety of uses over the years. It once served as a base for aerial firefighting operations and was even briefly utilized by the military for training exercises. Today, the airfield primarily caters to private pilots, local businesses, and thrill-seeking adventurers.

Sandy Shores Airfield features three runways: two parallel runways running east-west and a smaller runway oriented northeast-southwest. This configuration allows for greater flexibility in aircraft operations, accommodating a range of aircraft sizes and types. The airfield also boasts a spacious hangar capable of housing small to medium-sized aircraft, as well as a helipad for rotorcraft.  Basic amenities such as a small lounge area and restrooms are available in a modest terminal building. Fueling services are provided on-site, and a local mechanic is often found nearby for any necessary aircraft maintenance.

ABOUT MACKENZIE AIRFIELD 

Mackenzie Airfield is a small, privately owned airfield located in the heart of Blaine County, San Andreas. Nestled amidst the rolling hills and vineyards of Grapeseed, the airfield offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere.

Originally established in the early 20th century as a landing strip for crop dusters and private planes, Mackenzie Airfield has grown over the years to become a hub for local aviation enthusiasts and businesses. The airfield was once owned by the Vapid Motor Company, who used the facility for testing and transporting prototype vehicles. Today, the airfield is a popular destination for recreational pilots, flight schools, and small charter companies.

Mackenzie Airfield features a single asphalt runway, suitable for light aircraft and helicopters. The airfield also boasts a modern hangar with ample space for aircraft storage and maintenance. A small terminal building provides basic amenities for pilots and passengers, including a lounge area, restrooms, and a flight planning room. Fueling services are available on-site, and a nearby mechanic shop can handle any necessary repairs or maintenance.
